Job Summary:
As a Armed Security Guard, your primary responsibility will be to protect the company’s assets, employees, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment. You will be expected to monitor premises, control access, and respond to security breaches or emergencies. Your role is crucial in preventing theft, vandalism, and ensuring the overall safety of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and Monitor: Regularly patrol the premises, including buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas, to ensure security and safety. Use surveillance equipment to monitor activities and detect suspicious behavior.
- Access Control: Verify the identity and credentials of employees, visitors, and vendors entering the premises. Enforce access control policies and procedures.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents. Take appropriate actions to mitigate threats, provide first aid if necessary, and notify law enforcement or emergency services when required.
- Report Writing: Maintain detailed and accurate records of security activities, incidents, and observations. Prepare incident reports and security logs as necessary
- Security Equipment: Operate and maintain security equipment such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems. Report any malfunctions or issues.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors, assisting with inquiries, directions, and information as needed.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle conflicts, disturbances, and unruly behavior professionally and diplomatically. Use conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate situations when necessary.
- Fire Safety: Be knowledgeable about fire safety procedures, evacuation routes, and the operation of fire safety equipment. Assist in evacuations during fire alarms or drills.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and policies, ensuring that all individuals on the premises adhere to safety protocols.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct security risk assessments and suggest improvements to security protocols and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other security personnel, team members, and management to maintain a cohesive security strategy.
- Training: Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on security procedures, emergency response protocols, and new security technologies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or security training is a plus).
- State-specific security guard license and certifications (if required).
- Proven experience as a security guard or related field preferred.
- Strong observational and surveillance skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for operating security equipment.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Knowledge of legal regulations and guidelines related to security operations.
- First Aid/CPR certification (optional but preferred).
Work Environment:
Security Guards may be required to work in various settings, including office buildings, manufacturing facilities, retail stores, hospitals, or other locations where security is necessary. The work environment can vary from indoor to outdoor, and shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
